Sen. Cramer: North Dakota Receives Over $9.5 Million through FEMA Preparedness Grant Programs

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today theFederal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded a combined $9,546,208 to North Dakota through FY 2020 competitive preparedness grant programs. The funding announcements come as part of a $385 million nationwide investment.

North Dakota received $4,287,500 through the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP). SHSP is designed to provide funding to support the

implementation of state homeland security strategies to prevent and prepare for acts of terrorism.

North Dakota received $1,642,646 through the Operation Stonegarden (OPSG) program, which provides funding to enhance cooperation and coordination in a joint mission to secure the United States' borders. The following North Dakota counties received funds:

North Dakota received $3,151,693 through the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) program to prepare for hazards.

North Dakota also received a combined $464,369 through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) to support security enhancements at nonprofit organizations. The following North Dakota nonprofits received funds:
