Release: Cisneros Statement on Young Kim's Refusal to Condemn GOP Leader's Xenophobic Tweet

Today, Gil Cisneros released the following statement after Young Kim refused to condemn GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy's bigoted tweet about the coronavirus:

"Asian Americans and businesses being discriminated against, assaulted, and targeted is not a partisan issue. Lives are being harmed by xenophobia, racism, and misinformation. It's possible to both defend the Asian American community and help all Americans get the care they need, and Young Kim shouldn't brush racist comments aside when lives are at stake. This just shows she's not willing to stand up for the district, she's only willing to stand up for GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and President Donald Trump. I will always fight for all my constituents and call out xenophobia and racism wherever they may exist. Doing anything less would be careless and unacceptable."
