This week, in celebration of National Teacher Appreciation Week, Representative Dave Loebsack (IA-02) and Representative Sam Graves (MO-06) will introduce a resolution in Congress to honor teachers. The resolution recognizes the contributions of America's teachers to building and enhancing the Nation's civic, cultural, and economic well-being.

National Teacher Appreciation Week runs May 4th through May 8th this year.

"Even in these most trying of times, teachers strive to make a difference in the lives of their students by ensuring our future generations have the knowledge and tools necessary to be successful." said Congressman Loebsack. "Even though students are not in the classroom, it is important that we show our teachers just how important they are! More than ever, we owe a debt of gratitude to the teachers across Iowa and our nation this Teacher Appreciation Week for all they do for our students"

"Our teachers go above and beyond every day and this pandemic has made that abundantly clear," said Congressman Graves. "Even in the midst of uncertain times, teachers have quickly adapted to provide learning opportunities without a physical classroom. This school year has been incredibly challenging and our teachers have stepped up to ensure our children are still learning. Teacher Appreciation Week may look different this year, but it's a great opportunity to celebrate the work and role of teachers in the lives of our students."
