U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision against President Trump's effort to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that protects young undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.

"I'm very glad that the Supreme Court saw through the Trump administration's reckless actions and got this ruling right. This ruling further confirms that DACA recipients' homes are here in the United States," said Shaheen. "President Trump's attempt to end the DACA program was cruel, unnecessary and rooted in the very worst of partisan politics. The American people overwhelmingly support protecting Dreamers and providing a path to citizenship, and now that this ruling is behind us, Congress should move forward on that effort expeditiously. This effort should start by taking up the DREAM Act."
