When it comes to the 203,000 veterans in Iowa, we owe them everything. This means whether it was in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War or as recent as Iraq and Afghanistan, those who served our country deserve access to quality healthcare, education and economic opportunity. But politicians have let them down.
In Congress, Ashley would fight to increase transparency and communication at the VA and hold the VA accountable. We must increase access to mental health facilities and support programs that give military families and caregivers training on post-traumatic stress disorder and opioid addiction.
Brave Iowans put their lives on the line to defend our country and we cannot allow government bureaucracy and partisan politicians to get in the way of the care they need.
