Agriculture is at the heart of Iowa's economy and rural communities. That's why in the Iowa House, Ashley fought tirelessly to protect Iowa's farmers and agricultural facilities.
Now Ashley is calling on Washington to pass the USMCA--the NAFTA replacement agreement with Canada and Mexico that will bring higher wages and jobs, particularly in Iowa. A 2019 Business Roundtable study found that last year alone, $6.6 billion in Iowa goods and services were exported to Canada and Mexico, more than the next 27 export partners combined.
This trade deal is critical for Iowa--where one out of every five jobs are trade-related, and the agriculture industry accounts for one-third of the dollars driving our state's economy.
But we have a member of Congress who refuses to push for this important agreement that would help struggling farmers and families right now.
In Congress, Ashley will always put Iowa farmers and families first.
