"Throughout Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, we celebrate and honor the achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Although this month is coming to an end, we can't stop supporting the AAPI Community. Right now, they're experiencing increased hate, discrimination, and physical violence because of the coronavirus. We must stand up for them, and not just in the month of May, but every day. I'm proud to represent a district rich with diversity, including a large AAPI community, and lift up their voices in Congress. It's why I'm grateful to be an original cosponsor to this resolution recognizing Asian Pacific American Heritage Month."
Rep. Cisneros is an executive board member of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC).
