Today, Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) praised unanimous House passage of three bipartisan veterans' bills to increase veterans' disability compensation, allocate funds for medical facility construction projects, and amend the limitation on pay for certain employees and officers of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
"Throughout this pandemic, I've been working with my Republican and Democratic colleagues on the Veterans' Affairs Committee to continue to support our nation's veterans. I'm grateful that the House unanimously passed these three bills aimed at increasing disability compensation rates, providing funding for medical facility construction, and modifying VA pay structure. The third bill specifically would allow the VA to better hire a new head for the Veterans Crisis Line. Although HVAC has had to change how we work, our commitment to our veterans has not faltered."
