Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement after the IRS issued a new rule regarding donor information requirements for certain nonprofit organizations.

"For years, Democrats have used IRS disclosure rules to shame donors who give to worthy, conservative nonprofits," said Rep. Estes. "Using a bully pulpit to intimidate Americans for the way they support their community goes against the core of our First Amendment rights to free speech and violates individual privacy. Thankfully, the Treasury has recognized the grotesque nature of naming and shaming donors and has chosen to protect Americans who give of their own treasures to support others."
