Pallone Announces COVID-19 High Impact Funding Distribution for New Jersey Hospitals

Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced New Jersey's 6th Congressional District received over $177 million as part of the $1.7 billion in funding received by New Jersey health care providers from the Provider Relief Fund established in the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Pallone helped include the Provider Relief Fund in the CARES Act and has been pushing for the money to go to hospitals with large numbers of COVID-19 cases.
"This funding is absolutely critical for health care providers who are working around the clock to save lives. New Jersey is one of the hardest hit states, and our health care workers deserve federal aid that is distributed fairly," Congressman Pallone said. "In Congress, I fought for funding that is equitable to our state and gives health care providers the resources they need to keep New Jerseyans healthy as we combat this public health crisis. I will continue to do everything I can to ensure that hospitals and providers stand ready to fight this virus."

JFK Medical Center in Edison: $59,603,910.03
Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch: $16,016,126.80
Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy $24,758,340.37
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick: $47,962,240.33
Saint Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick: $29,574,037.75
The $1.7 billion allotment was the third round of funding issued to hospitals through the CARES Act. The first two rounds were distributed on a formula basis that was linked to Medicare or hospital revenues in previous years. This round, which amounted to $12 billion nationally, was specifically linked to the number of COVID-19 hospital admissions. Hospitals that treated the highest number of patients through April 10 received the funding. New Jersey hospitals and health care providers have received over $2.7 billion in total from funding allocated in the CARES Act.
