A Change in Medicare
New Prescription Drug Benefit Information

Dear Friends,

Between November 15, 2005 and May 15, 2006, all Medicare beneficiaries have an opportunity to sign up for the new Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit (Medicare Part D). Most seniors can benefit from the new coverage, especially those seniors without an existing prescription drug benefit.

The new coverage allows seniors to choose from different plans offered by Medicare partners. There are several plans offered in southern California and it may take time to determine which one, if any, are best for you.

Please keep in mind that the new benefit is completely voluntary. However, there is a financial penalty if you sign up after May 15, 2006.

If you or a loved one currently receive Medicare benefits, I encourage you to learn more about the new plans and if it is right for you.
