Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) released the following statement on reports that China sunk a Vietnamese fishing vessel near the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea:

"The Chinese Communist Party has sunk to attacking peaceful fishermen to enforce its unlawful claims in the South China Sea. The United States stands with our allies and partners in southeast Asia, especially Vietnam, as they defend their citizens and sovereignty from CCP aggression."
