Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) issued the following statement after the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released the first tranche of funding for hospitals and health care providers. Kansas hospitals and providers will receive $325,135,950.
"Thanks to the CARES Act, hospitals and health care providers in Kansas are receiving financial relief to help offset the burdens caused by COVID-19," said Rep. Estes. "This is good news for our state, but we need to do more to ensure that rural health care receives the funding provided by Congress in the CARES Act. While this is a positive first step, I'm calling on HHS Secretary Azar to continue making rural health care a priority as our Kansas doctors, nurses and medical staff are fighting against COVID-19."
