Hoeven Announces DOT Funding For COVID-19 Efforts In North Dakota

Statement

Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded $34,057,864 to the State of North Dakota. This funding comes from the CARES Act and will be used to prevent, prepare for and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) in urban, rural and tribal areas across the state. Details of the funding are as follows:

The Urbanized Area Formula Grants Program

Fargo -- $7,936,636
Bismarck -- $3,766,362
Grand Forks -- $3,372,110

The Rural Area Formula Grants Program

State of North Dakota -- $17,996,449

The Tribal Transit Formula Grants Program

Standing Rock -- $426,059
Spirit Lake -- $369,016
Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians -- $191,232

"These funds will help our communities to deal with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic," said Hoeven. "As we continue our efforts to combat the coronavirus, these resources will help ensure that our state's transportation systems are prepared and able to respond."
