Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13), member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement calling for all American citizens and legal permanent residents to return home from abroad as the global coronavirus pandemic continues to spread.
"Per guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of State and Department of Health and Human Service, I am calling on all Americans and Legal Permanent Residents in the Dominican Republic to return the United States," said Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13). "The Department of State has issued a Global Level 4 Do Not Travel health advisory, advising all U.S. citizens to avoid international travel and to return to the United States if possible. Many countries are experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks and implementing travel restrictions and mandatory quarantines, closing borders, and prohibiting non-citizens from entry with little advance notice.
"For those who are abroad or with family abroad, please visit travel.state.gov for further information or reach out to my office to receive information or assistance."
