Gianforte Statement on Senate Consideration of CARES Act to Confront COVID-19 Outbreak

Congressman Greg Gianforte (R-Mont.) issued the following statement as the Senate considers the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

"Montanans are worried if their businesses will close and whether they'll see their next paycheck, which is why the federal government must step up immediately to help Montana workers, families, and small businesses during this time of crisis and uncertainty. After unnecessary delays and obstruction of a bipartisan agreement, I'm relieved partisans stopped playing political games, recognized the urgency to act, and moved forward. The Senate's CARES Act is a step in the right direction, providing direct cash payments to Montanans, loans and grants to Montana's small businesses, and needed relief to our hospitals and health care providers on the frontlines. I look forward to seeing the final legislation and considering it quickly in the House," Congressman Gianforte said.
