Congressman Correa's Joins Call For DHS To Delay the REAL ID Act Implementation Deadline

Today Senior House Homeland Security Committee Democrat and Subcommittee Chairman Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA-46) urged the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Acting Secretary Chad Wolf to delay the October 1, 2020, REAL ID Act implementation deadline. Chairman Correa issued the following statement regarding the urgency of postponing the rapidly approaching deadline:
"When I got my ID several weeks ago, I spent hours waiting at my local DMV. With the spread of coronavirus across the country, this is not an option. Countless Americans still do not have their new ID and have no way of getting on during this outbreak. We must postpone the implementation of REAL ID."
