CASE WRAPS 2005 "CONGRESSMAN ED CASE REPORTS" TV PROGRAMS WITH RETROSPECTIVE

December "True Spirit of Hawai'i" Show Highlights Exemplary People From Year's Monthly Reports

Honolulu, Hawaii - U.S. Congressman Ed Case (Hawai‘i) is devoting his last monthly public access television program of 2005 to a look back on the year's shows with a focus on some of the fascinating people of Hawai‘i highlighted throughout the year.

"2005 has been a very difficult year, and 2006 will be equally if not more so," said Case, whose "Congressman Ed Case Reports" monthly programs appear on five channels throughout the state. "Throughout the year, I've met thousands of fascinating, exemplary people of Hawai‘i in all walks of life who exude hope for our future, and I wanted to share just a few of them with everyone once again as we end this year and greet the new year."

Featured on Case's December "True Spirit of Hawai‘i" show are:

· five members of the Hawai'i Army Guard and Reserve's 29th Brigade Combat Team whom Case visited at Fort Polk, Louisiana before their deployment to Iraq - Lester Delos Reyes (Moloka‘i), Brent "Kawika" Parangan of Kaua‘i, Dan Gorman of O‘ahu, Shawn Pouono of Hawai‘i Island and Keola Kosuga of Maui, and Lester Delos Reyes' wife, Roberta Delos Reyes;

· U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye, whom Case interviewed in Washington, D.C.;

· four of Case's former congressional interns - Sarah Kaopuiki (Lana‘i), Sara Cunningham (Hawai‘i Island), Chris Delaunay (O‘ahu) and Lisa Fujita (Maui);

· Awapuhi Dancil, a Kamehameha-Maui student who was Case's Congressional Page appointee;

· Kimokeo Kapahulehua (Maui), the National Marine Sanctuary Program's national volunteer of the year for his dedication to the restoration of the Ko‘ie‘ie Fishpond;

· Jose Carpio (Hawai‘i Island), at 104 years old our oldest sakada, as representing our Filipino-American community which is celebrating the centennial of sustained immigration from the Philippines in 2006; and

· Joseph Lewis III, musician and member, 29th BCT.
