Rose Advocates for Tornado Relief from President Trump

Statement

Date: March 5, 2020
Location: Washington D.C.

Today, U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-6), along with the entire Tennessee congressional delegation, urged President Trump to approve the disaster declaration requested by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee.

"The people of Tennessee's Sixth District have faced unprecedented tragedy this week. In Wilson County, our losses were deep, including the loss of three members of our community. Sadly, in my home county, Putnam County, we experienced the highest loss of life in the state, with 18 confirmed deaths. The horrific storms of March 3, 2020, undoubtedly hurt Tennessee badly, but our resolve remains strong," Rep. Rose stated. "Tennessee has rallied together, and now it is time for the federal assistance our state so badly needs. I have urged President Trump to act swiftly, and I trust he will prioritize the needs of Tennesseans during this tragic time."
