Today, Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) led a group of House members in a series of Special Order speeches on the House floor highlighting the danger sanctuary cities pose to their citizens and why Congress should pass legislation to force these cities to comply with federal law.
Rep. Budd's bill, the Justice for Victims of Sanctuary Cities Act, strips federal funding from cities who refuse to waive a criminal's immunity and allows victims to sue the sanctuary jurisdiction. President Trump highlighted his support for this bill during his 2020 State of the Union Address.
