Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig joined her colleagues on the bipartisan Career and Technical Education Caucus in designating February as National CTE Month.
"It's important to designate February as National Career and Technical Education Month to continue to highlight the need to change how we look at providing career skills and technical education in our schools," said Rep. Craig. "That's why I partnered with Senator Tina Smith to address Minnesota's job gap and set students up for success by strengthening partnerships between schools and local businesses with the 21st Century Workforce Partnerships Act."
Minnesota has over 140,000 job vacancies and only 0.7 job seekers for every available job. Rep. Craig is a member of the bipartisan Career and Technical Education Caucus where she works across the aisle with her Republican colleagues to strengthen our economy and expand career skills and technical education opportunities for students.
Rep. Craig has visited CTE programs across Minnesota's Second Congressional District, including, Dakota County Technical College, Shakopee Academies and Apple Valley High School.
