Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the below statement following President Trump's newly announced Middle East peace plan. The strategy focuses on achieving peace, security, and opportunity for Israel and the Palestinian people:

"Today, the United States reaffirmed its commitment to securing peace in the Middle East. No nation can create a safer and more prosperous global community alone -- and it is time for Israeli and Palestinian leaders to lay a new foundation. On behalf of the people, they have the opportunity to resume negotiations and take bold action for a brighter future. Centuries of hostilities won't be solved overnight -- but comprehensive peace is within the grasp of those willing to forge a transformative path. I applaud President Trump and the Administration for outlining a powerful vision and taking constructive steps to deliver harmony, stability, and security in the region."
