Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) released the following statement Korean-American Day:
"Today isn't just a celebration of the nearly 120 years of contributions by the Korean-American community to our country, but a recognition of a new generation of Korean-American leaders forging their own paths and making an impact. As I look at my two baby boys, I see that future, and remain optimistic about what the Korean-American community will achieve in the coming year."
Congressman Kim is the lone Korean-American serving in Congress, and only the second Korean-American in history to serve. The Congressman's parents were born in South Korea, and emigrated to the United States in search of a better life.
