U.S. House Assistant Speaker Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) issued the following statement celebrating Black History Month:
"As we celebrate Black History Month, we honor the contributions of African Americans who have contributed so greatly to the fabric of America. Diversity is our country's greatest strength, and the unwavering efforts of African Americans to eliminate barriers has helped increase opportunities and fairness for all Americans. Together, we must continue fighting for a future of prosperity that is free of oppression and injustice.
