Today, following the announcement of the Trump Administration's Israel proposal, Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) made the following statement:

This is not a peace plan. It's a distraction--from Israel's investigation into Netanyahu and America's investigation into Trump.

Prime Minister Netanyahu's plan to exchange permanent settlements in contested territories for votes is unacceptable. It distracts and detracts from a truly lasting peace through a two-state solution negotiated in good faith.

Trump and Netanyahu should work with the Palestinians to create an agreement that guarantees Israel's right to exist, allows Palestinians to self-govern, and provides Muslims access to holy sites in Jerusalem. America can help broker this discussion, but ultimately the agreement must be between the Israeli and Palestinian people.
