Today, Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39), Member of the House Armed Services Committee, released the following statement after the House-Senate conference committee agreed on the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The NDAA will now head to the Senate and House floors for a vote.

"It was an honor to be part of the NDAA conference committee and work with my Republican and Democratic colleagues to secure provisions that toughen our stance against our adversaries, improve military healthcare and services to military families, promote diversity in our military's officer corps, and ensure the safety of military housing" said Rep. Gil Cisneros. "As a Navy veteran, I'm proud to continue the important work of supporting our servicemembers in the 39th District and around the world. I look forward to colleagues on both sides of the aisle joining me to support the FY2020 NDAA."

Rep. Cisneros is a Navy veteran and serves on the House Armed Services Committee. The annual NDAA authorizes funding for Department of Defense (DoD) programs and activities. The annual national defense budget involves millions of military and civilian personnel, thousands of facilities, and commands located around the world.
