U.S. Rep. Linda T. Sánchez (CA-38) issued the following statement regarding Delta Airlines Flight 89's jet fuel dump during an emergency landing procedure on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

"We are now learning that last week's fuel dump by a Delta airplane fell on more areas throughout Southern California than had been originally reported. My office has received several calls from constituents in Whittier, who reported a mist and smell coming from a plane flying overhead.

"I've been in contact with both Delta and the Federal Aviation Administration to get more information on why and how this happened, as well as which precautions residents should take to protect their health. They have assured me that a full investigation is taking place. In the meantime, I encourage constituents of the 38th congressional district to contact my office for any additional information."
