Allred Votes to Pass Historic US, Mexico and Canada Trade Agreement

Congressman Colin Allred (TX-32), today voted to pass the revised version of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). The agreement passed the House with broad bipartisan support.

"Trade is critically important to our great state, and after months of hard work, I am proud to have voted today to move forward on this historic, job-creating trade agreement between the U.S., Mexico and Canada," said Allred. "I tirelessly worked to urge leaders in both parties to move forward on this agreement because of its importance to the Texas economy. I thank my colleagues for their hard work to improve this deal, and get it across the finish line. This will set a new standard for agreements moving forward and is a win for workers and businesses alike."

Allred spoke on the House floor today urging passage of the USMCA.

Allred has been leading efforts to urge his colleagues in the trade working group and in House leadership to get something done this year, and repeatedly emphasized its importance to North Texas. In July, Allred led a group of his colleagues in writing a letter with Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) to House leadership urging action to resolve outstanding issues and move forward on an agreement that benefits the United States.

The bill is supported by a strong coalition of labor and business groups like the AFL-CIO, Business Roundtable, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and many others.
