Rep. Peters Votes in Support Of Two-State Solution in Israel and Palestine

Statement

Today, Rep. Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement after voting in support of House Resolution 326, which recognizes that a negotiated two-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians should be the goal of any American involvement in the region:

"Lasting peace between the Israeli and Palestinian people will require careful negotiation and long-term security guarantees for both Israel and a future Palestinian state. For decades, Democratic and Republican administrations have agreed that a two-state solution is the only viable pathway. This resolution affirms that a two-state solution, with negotiated concessions on both sides, is the only path to security and stability in the region."
