U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed Dr. Stephen Hahn, chief medical executive at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, to be commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration:

"A multitalented physician, Dr. Hahn not only oversees patient care for a world-renowned cancer center but also actively practices medicine and mentors others," said Sen. Cornyn. "I'm grateful to my colleagues for supporting for this outstanding nominee, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact he has on the FDA."
