Congressman Steven Horsford Questions Chair of the Federal Reserve on Economic Security in Nevada

Press Release

Date: Nov. 14, 2019
Location: Washington, DC

On Thursday, November 14, 2019, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) joined his colleagues in the House Budget Committee for a hearing examining our nation's economic outlook from the point of view of the Federal Reserve with Fed Chair, Jerome H. Powell. This is the first time since 2012 that the Fed Chair has appeared before the House Budget Committee.

Congressman Horsford questioned Chair Powell on the responsibility of the Fed to ensure economic prosperity for the people of Nevada and highlighted the vast income inequality plaguing the country under the Trump administration's tax plan--that income growth for low- and middle-income Americans has slowed while growth at the top has been strong.
