Congressman Ben Ray Luján, the U.S. House Assistant Speaker, issued the following statement on the House passage of legislation to end unwanted and illegal robocalls:
"Across the United States, scammers are flooding our phonelines and breaking the law with robocalls. These calls are not only a nuisance -- they are scams and threats that undermine the trust of consumers. New Mexicans need and deserve more control and transparency over who is calling them, which is exactly why I co-sponsored and voted for the TRACED Act. I'm proud of the bipartisan, bicameral work that went into this legislation that will help hold scammers accountable and end robocalls."
