Pennsylvania Congressional Republicans Blast Sham Impeachment

Statement

The Pennsylvania Republican Congressional Delegation offered the following statement after voting unanimously to block Speaker Pelosi and Intelligence Committee Chairman Schiff's last-minute vote to legitimize the baseless push to impeach President Trump:

"House Democrats have disenfranchised millions of Americans -- including about 10 million Pennsylvanians - by conducting these impeachment investigations in secret, so they can manipulate the process into their desired endgame. Chairman Schiff and his cohorts have insisted on closed-door meetings, blocking all but three of us from listening to the testimony in real-time or even letting us read transcripts; i.e., keeping us from a process to which we're not only entitled but swore an oath to uphold. Regardless of political or personal views, the decision to impeach a sitting President is breathtakingly serious - and we have a right to know what's going on. Now, as a result of mounting pressure, House Democrats desperately want to legitimize this sham at the last minute with an up-or-down vote -- when we have no information. We need to get back to the business of governing the Country, end this farce, and focus on what really matters to the American People."
