Diaz-Balart Appointed as Conferee for Coast Guard Reauthorization

WASHINGTON—Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) has been appointed as a House conferee for the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Act of 2005 (H.R. 889). This is the second time Diaz-Balart has been appointed to the Coast Guard reauthorization conference.

"I am honored to be appointed to this conference," Diaz-Balart said. "The Coast Guard provides an invaluable service to our nation and is critical in protecting our shores and waters. As a conferee, I look forward to helping craft the final legislation to reauthorize such a vital part of our homeland security."
