Rep. Zeldin Statement on 1 Year Anniversary of Tragedy at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh

Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus and one of only two Jewish Republicans in Congress, issued the following statement on the one year anniversary of the tragedy at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh:

"One year ago today, we witnessed the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in U.S. history claim the lives of 11 worshipers at the Tree of LIfe Synagogue in Pittsburgh. This horrific attack was a stark reminder of the ever present threats facing the Jewish community, and, one year later, the anti-Semitic hate that fueled this attack has not subsided.

"The rising tide of anti-Semitism all around the world must be identified and confronted with total focus and determination so a tragedy like this never happens again. Above all else, we must respect and protect religious freedom, which is a bedrock principle and fundamental right of our great nation."
