Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) released the following statement regarding United States Secretary of Energy Rick Perry's resignation:
"Rick Perry has devoted his life to public service. As Secretary of Energy, he served our nation with integrity for the last two-and-a-half years, and paved the way for greater economic growth and U.S. energy independence. He governed the great state of Texas with the same principled leadership and I am proud to call him a dear friend. I wish Rick and his family all the best in their next season of life."
Perry is the longest serving governor in Texas history, and Williams served as his secretary of state from 2005-2007.
