U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) commented today on the passing of Dr. Wally Montgomery of Paducah, Kentucky:

"In everything he did, Dr. Wally Montgomery touched the lives of many, and we are all better as a result of his caring friendship. Wally's nationally-recognized surgical talents advanced his field and helped prepare new generations of doctors to bring compassion and excellence into their work. Driven by his faith and an unyielding commitment to service, Wally's philanthropy and leadership generated a legacy that will continue to benefit those in Paducah and across Kentucky for years to come. And, of course, Wally was an ardent supporter of Gerry during her time of exceptional public service.
