Date: Oct. 22, 2019
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Senator Susan Collins delivered remarks from the Senate floor urging her colleagues to support the fiscal year (FY) 2020 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development funding bill. The legislation, authored by Senator Collins, passed the Appropriations Committee last month by a vote of 31-0. Senator Collins is the Chairman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee.

"I worked closely with Ranking Member Jack Reed to draft this bill, which includes more than 950 requests from 75 Senators. It reflects a truly bipartisan product. Our bill not only fully funds the renewal of housing assistance for low-income seniors and other vulnerable populations, but it also continues to provide robust investments in our infrastructure," said Chairman Collins. "I urge my colleagues to support the investments in this bill that benefit our communities and the families, veterans, children, and seniors who rely on these programs."
