House Science, Space, and Technology Ranking Member Frank Lucas released the following statement upon the announcement that Department of Energy Secretary Rick Perry will retire:
Under Secretary Perry's leadership, the Department of Energy helped make American energy cleaner, more efficient & less expensive than ever. He's an enthusiastic supporter of the world-class research done by our National Labs and he's overseen dramatic advances in supercomputing, artificial intelligence & quantum science, just to name a few. I'd like to thank him for his service and wish him well on his return to Oklahoma's neighbor to the south.
