Congressman Greg Murphy, MD appointed to serve as a member of the House Education & Labor Committee.

"As a physician, business owner, and former faculty member at East Carolina University, Rep. Murphy will bring a unique perspective and relevant professional experience to the Education and Labor Committee. We will benefit from his leadership and I look forward to serving alongside a fellow North Carolinian as we work to foster the best opportunities for students to learn and workers to succeed," said Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), Republican Leader of the Committee on Education and Labor.

Upon receiving the appointment, Dr. Murphy stated, "I look forward to serving on the Education and Labor Committee. Using my experience as a former East Carolina University faculty member as well as a member of the Board of Trustees at Davidson College to further, I am to further the goals of accessibility, affordability and excellence for this nation's academic institutions."
