Today, Governor Pete Ricketts released the eighth episode of "The Nebraska Way" featuring Zac Triemert, a Nebraska craft brewer and distiller. During this episode, Zac discusses how he got involved in brewing and distilling, being an entrepreneur and small business owner, the brewing and distilling processes, and the growing craft brewing industry in Nebraska.
Triemert, who has been brewing and distilling in Nebraska for almost 20 years, moved to Scotland to get his Master's Degree in Brewing and Distilling from Heriot-Watt University. He returned to Omaha and opened Brickway Brewery and Distillery in 2013. Brickway, named for the well-known brick paved streets in the Old Market District, is the first combination brewery/distillery in Nebraska since before Prohibition. As a self-proclaimed mad scientist of brewing and distilling, Zac leads the team at Brickway who work hard to provide tested recipes that reflect on the rich culture and history of Omaha.
