Delgado Joins Grand Opening of Remodeled Trailways Bus Station

Today, Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) joined Trailways leadership, DOT Commissioner Marie Therese Dominquez, Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan, and the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce for a grand opening celebration in honor of the remodeled Trailways Bus Station in Kingston. Trailways of New York is the largest and longest continually operating privately held intercity transportation provider in New York State.

Rep. Delgado delivered remarks at the event recognizing the critical role Trailways plays in bringing tourists and economic development to the area. "Today is a great day for our city, our community, and the Upstate region as we celebrate the grand opening of a newly renovated bus terminal for Trailways. Today we celebrate the opening of a modernized station, a critical investment that keeps Kingston and Ulster County a destination for the 250,000 adventure seekers, tourists, hikers, and visitors that pass through the station every year." The Congressman also discussed the need for continued investment in infrastructure to create jobs and support economic development in the region. "Remodeling this Kingston bus station was an important collaborative effort between Ulster County, Kingston, and New York State to bring continued investment to our region…These investments to the terminal will allow the city of Kingston to remain a top tourist destination within the Hudson Valley and continue our legacy as a gateway to Upstate. I look forward to seeing how these investments will allow the Trailways fleet to grow and bring continued development to the area."

As a member of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Rep. Delgado has focused on economic development and investments in infrastructure during his first eight months in office. Rep. Delgado has led House introduction of the PIPE Act which would create a new grant program to help communities in New York and across the country invest in critical water system upgrades.
