McConnell Supports McCreary County First Responders With Federal Grant

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced today that the McCreary County Ambulance Service was awarded $153,470 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The Service plans to use the competitive federal grant funds to purchase four new cardiac monitors, replacing their outdated equipment. The new monitors will meet safety standards and help provide critical services throughout the region. Senator McConnell contacted FEMA, part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in support of his constituents' application for the federal grant.

"Kentucky's brave first responders deserve the best tools possible to fulfill their duty and protect our communities, and I was proud to work with leaders in McCreary County to help deliver these federal resources," said Senator McConnell. "It's my responsibility to be our state's voice in Washington, and as Senate Majority Leader I'm able to draw national attention to Kentucky's priorities like this one. This new equipment can help the brave men and women who choose to run toward danger, and it's my privilege to support them in their life-saving work."

"Coming from a small town, it is often hard for us to afford such big purchases, but thanks to the support we received from Senator McConnell, we can get top-of-the-line equipment to aid in providing patient care."
