Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) released the following statement applauding the confirmation of Mark Esper as the Secretary of Defense:
"Mark Esper once risked his life on the battlefield as a member of the famed 101st Airborne Division, earning the Bronze Star. He went on to a successful career in and out of government, where he shaped American defense policy with remarkable skill and effectiveness. Mark has devoted his life to public service. I have no doubt he'll serve with honor again as Secretary of Defense."
