"The bipartisan agreement paves the way for Congress to responsibly fund our government and better support American families. It rejects the President's reckless FY 2020 budget, averts a financial crisis by raising the debt ceiling, avoids another government shutdown, and allows us to move forward on the House-passed appropriations bills.

Additionally, with this deal, we have taken a significant step toward evening the scales between defense and non-defense spending, putting more resources toward programs like child care, education, and infrastructure."
