Gov. Pritzker Statement on Legislation Strengthening Scott's Law

Statement

Governor JB Pritzker released the following statement after the Senate passage of SB 1862, a bill strengthening Scott's Law, and SB 2038, a bill creating the Move Over Task Force.

"Our state troopers and emergency responders risk their lives to protect us and I applaud the General Assembly for taking action to help keep them safe. Scott's Law is our best tool for protecting those who serve us on our roadways and this legislation strengthens and enhances that vital law. I want to thank Senators Muñoz Anderson, Sims, Link and McConchie and Representatives Evans, Hoffman, Butler, Cabello and Batinick for their leadership in getting this bill passed and applaud this strong, bipartisan vote. No one's time or convenience is worth more than the lives of our state's heroes and I look forward to signing this legislation and continuing to make that message clear."
