Rep. Lou Correa's Bill To Protect National Security and Help Small Businesses Passes House

Statement

Today, Congressman Lou Correa's (D-CA-46) H.R. 2083 - The Homeland Procurement Reform Act (HOPR Act) was passed by the House. This bipartisan legislation, introduced with Congressman Brian Mast (R-FL-18), will help create jobs and ensure the United States' national security when procuring equipment for the Department of Homeland Security. The HOPR Act aims to support U.S. small businesses by increasing the ability of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to purchase high-quality, American-made uniforms and equipment for frontline personnel.

Rep. Lou Correa said, "I want to thank my colleagues for their support in bringing this legislation to the Floor. It is a necessary step to ensure our DHS frontline personnel have access to domestically sourced, high-quality uniforms and equipment while allowing domestic small businesses to better compete for Federal government contracts.
