Statement from Congressman Joe Morelle Regarding President Trump's Nomination of Peter Vito to Serve as U.S. Marshal for The Western District of New York

"I am calling on the President to immediately withdraw his nominee for U.S. Marshal from the Western District.

"Historically, the U.S. Attorney hails from Buffalo while the Marshal is from Rochester. The decision by the President to break from this longstanding tradition is a slap in the face to Monroe County residents.

"Furthermore, selecting someone for a law enforcement position based on a recommendation from an indicted Representative facing federal felony charges is an insult."
