Blog - Bills Passed: Expanding Veterans Access To Quality Care | May 22

Press Release

Date: May 22, 2019

I'm always thinking about what we can do to go out there and ensure veterans get the best possible care, and when bills pass, I always want to get you the news as soon as possible.

So, this week the House voted to pass:

The Whole Veteran Act to give veterans more control over their own physical and mental care
The Vet Center Eligibility Expansion Act to expand access to care for veterans who served during a national emergency
The FIGHT Veteran Suicide Act to better understand and help prevent veterans suicide
The Veterans' Education, Transition, and Opportunity Prioritization Plan Act to manage veterans benefits programs and aid servicemembers' return to civilian life
Passing these bills is a step towards improving care for veterans, but there is always more that can be done - and I won't stop fighting until veterans have access to the very best care our country has to offer.
