U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) issued the following statement on President Trump's announcement regarding new protections of conscience rights for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, teachers, students, and faith-based charities:

"No doctor, no nurse, no physician of any kind should be forced to administer an abortion or any other morally objectionable procedure. I support President Trump taking steps to protect the rights of conscientious objectors in the health care industry. Every American deserves the right to refuse to be complicit in the death of an unborn child. Congress should now take up the Conscience Protection Act, which I helped introduce with Senator Lankford, to codify the rules announced today."
